Rye Lane Art Trail

Get It Done is thrilled to be leading the commissioning of three new murals for Rye Lane, the creative and cultural hub of Peckham, South London.

This six-month, community-led process began in September by forming a Community Steering Panel, bringing together representatives from across the local area. Together, we explored three key themes to celebrate through the murals, deciding on food stories, music stories and stories of resistance and resilience. Our community panel shaped the artist brief to reflect the heart of Peckham.

We had an overwhelming amount of talented local applications, but our panel shortlisted just six artists. In November, they showcased their mural designs in a street exhibition along Rye Lane, inviting the public to vote for their favourites, spotlighting local talent and engaging the public in creative workshops around placemaking and public art. Artists will be contracted by mid-December, with plans to engage local communities in a series of workshops centred around the themes of each mural.

The murals will be installed between late February and early March and launched with a fun spring-time celebration event. Follow along on our Instagram for more updates on the project.
